Analysing a horror magazine cover

Horror film magazines/covers commonly have one main film featured in the magazine that will have the main character appear on the front cover as the main image. This makes audiences want to read the issue, as they may recognise that face or character from a trailer etc. The title is also always very large, colourful and draws your attention to it. They are either at the top or the bottom of the page and are usually short snappy titles that are suitable in the horror genre, eg. "Fangoria".

Each magazine cover is different, as some magazines have many sub-titles, while others will have more photos. There isn't a huge use for puffs and pugs- they lean towards snappy titles in bright colours and interesting fonts. They make references to the newest horrors showing getting the audience hyped up.
